Assumptions

Why practical people cannot relate to physics

Question:
Two children in a 90kg boat are drifting southward with a constant speed of 1.5 m s-1. Each child has a mass of 50kg. What is the velocity of the boat immediately after one of the children falls of the read of the boat?

Politically correct answer:
Child who drops down into water continue in his state of motion, southwards of 1.5m s-1. Since velocities of the child do not change before and after he jumps, there is no change in the velocity of the boat.

A questionable doubt:
A says: we have to presume newton's first law ma
A says: then we can say that the child speed is same as the boat
A says: is it?
B says: ok
B says: but in real life
B says: wont the child just
B says: drown and die or sth
A says: -_-
A says: u xiang xiang li a bit feng fu...
B says: what
B says: haha really what
B says: can you imagine
B says: like
B says: this child falls off
B says: where got swim same speed as the boat
B says: prob like struggle struggle then drown
B says: :s

Life is really full of assumptions. There are theories, but whether we can apply them, or even apply them well, is a whole different thing. But comparatively, there's no right or wrong, just some "seemingly better", and different ideologies work for different people.

Projectile Motions

The way of life

A says: it's like projectile motions, the horizontal velocity and vertical velocity is independent of each other
B says: haha projectile motions o.O
A says: although in actual fact they're dependent of each other which makes them look parabolic
B says: aha i like that analogy
A says: then, for example ur the horizontal velocity that throws the ball straight
A says: you find that acceleration due to gravity is pulling you downwards
A says: but in actual fact that's not your fault
A says: and there's nothing you can do about it
A says: and in the end you realise that
A says: you're still moving in the same horizontal velocity
A says: and that makes you yourself
A says: the only thing you have to overcome now is air resistance
B says: aha nice
A says: and maybe when you touch the ground due to the vertical velocity, maybe that's when life ends
A says: a finishing touch ends the great analogy
A says: and is it not written "the answers to all questions lie in the word Because"

I like great analogies. Enough said.

Perceptions

Life is quite a simple thing, if it can be defined by the word "thing". There are a few ways of getting on with life happily depending on what you define "living life" as. Of course, it is much more of a relative view.

Per se, I would like to lead life interestingly. Then what you would probably do is to make yourself interested. It's as simple as that, in theory, yet not as simple.

All in all, you have to realise that it's not just a matter of others. Humans may be very very social creatures, however, it's only your own actions that affect yourself. Therefore, it would not be impossible to change yourself/ your attitude to probably make your life more interesting.

Yet again, from another perspective, life tends to be more interesting when you are yourself. [Of course you need to meet the basic etiquettes of what your society demands of you.] Judging from the American culture imperialism, where liberalism is the key, the [latter] can effectively be ignored.

After this whole few chapters, there will be a debate about Perspective. The reason is simple. Perspective [of others] affects how you live. Again, because humans are social creatures.

We have to understand that how people see you will not change. This is practical. "Seeing is believing". You cannot expect people to change their perspective to suit yours such that you would probably be better. "Putting yourself in one's shoes" does not apply. It hardly ever works.

But as said "Seeing is believing", it's what others view of you that is exactly what you show, therefore it has something to do with what you show than a mistake of what others view of you. Making sense?

Thus it is essential that we change our actions, to show who you really are, or what you want to show[being humans]. Then how people see you will change. You cannot be pointing at everyone out there and say "change your perspective" just because you feel that you are acceptable, blame the whole world for not understanding you. How do you expect people to change the way they see?

Amidst all these confusing and abstract way I have organised/disorganised my views, you ask, "Change yourself, but dont change yourself to lead a happy life?"

What needs to be changed and what does not?

Let's talk about human traits again. There is always an inner personality of yourself, and another personality[outer reiatsu?] you use to deal with other beings.

This particular outer reiatsu is the main culprit of a probable misunderstanding of what other beings have of you. It is a means of expression, which shows others how your inner reiatsu feels. That, is what others see, known as Perspective.

But lucky us, experience will lead us to mould our outer reiatsu that will cooperate well with our inner reiatsu and at the same time, let others have the good Perspective of you.

In the end, only time and experience, and the exploitation of this two factors, will you find the ultima outer reiatsu that suits yourself.

At that time, you'll probably enjoy life as much as I do.
